"Sólo puedo decir 'muchas gracias'"

La historia comienza con los dos terremotos. Uno en 2015 y otro en 2017. El último fue especialmente devastador dañando la mayoría de las casas y destruyendo la torre de la iglesia. Mi casa, como la de tantos otros se cuarteo al principio y finalmente se cayó. A la una de la tarde durante el temblor, mientras me agarraba a un tonel lleno de agua, todo se movía, el tonel iba de derecha a izquierda con kilos y kilos de agua. De repente vi caerse todo. Me había quedado sin casa y sin taller. Las mamás corrían para ir a por sus hijos a la escuela. Todas temían por sus vidas.
Posteriormente, gracias a un programa de rehabilitación del terremoto del Gobierno Mexicano consiguieron construir su casa después de dos años. Sin embargo, necesitaban el taller de almacenamiento para continuar con su negocio; una carpintería. Decide construirlo el sólo con sus hijos que continúan y ayudan en ese bonito oficio. Sin embargo enseguida se encuentran con las dificultades de la falta de materiales y conocimiento para levantar el taller.
En esas estaban cuando encuentra a Sergio Castillo del Colegio El Peñón que se pone en contacto con Carlos Alejano de Tekesta. Inicia entonces en julio de 2019 este precioso proyecto de construcción cuyo final podéis ver en las fotos y las caras de alegría de la familia de don Ricardo. Éste todavía recuerda con un profundo agradecimiento "aquellos jóvenes de Tekesta, más de 15 o 20, que aquel verano con sus manos y sin guantes, porque no había para todos, prepararon el cemento, ponían los ladrillos y fijaban las columnas de su taller. Sólo puedo decir 'muchas gracias".
(English) The story begins with two earthquakes. One in 2015 and another in 2017. The latter was especially devastating damaging most of the houses and destroying the church tower. My house, like that of so many others, cracked at first and finally fell. At one o'clock in the afternoon during the tremor, while I was clinging to a barrel full of water, everything moved, the barrel went from right to left with pounds and pounds of water. Suddenly I saw everything falling. I was left homeless and without a workshop. Moms ran to pick up their kids from school. They all feared for their lives.
Later, thanks to an earthquake rehabilitation program of the Mexican Government, he managed to build his house after two years. However, he needed the storage workshop to continue their business; a carpentry shop. He decided to build it alone with his children who help and give continuity in that beautiful trade. However, they soon faced the difficulties of the lack of materials and knowledge to build the workshop.
They were there when he found Sergio Castillo from El Peñón School who contacted Carlos Alejano de Tekesta. Then in July 2019 began this beautiful construction project whose end you can see in the photos and the faces of joy of the family of Don Ricardo. He still remembers with deep gratitude "those young people from Tekesta, more than 15 or 20, who that summer with their hands and without gloves, because there were not enough for everyone, prepared the cement, laid the bricks and fixed the columns of their workshop.
