"The Edge Professional Seminar" - Juniors & Seniors

The Edge Professional Seminar prepares Juniors and Seniors for the practical choices they will need to make in college and in professional life.
It also helps students develop the character traits needed to make wise choices and carry them out effectively.
The Seminar is also an opportunity to develop the habits of effective speaking and critical thinking essential for success in college and the workplace.

Topics Covered

  1. Secularism: Rejection of Religion

  2. Relativism: Nothing is Absolute

  3. Empiricism: Tyranny of the Measurable

  4.           No EDGE session

  5. Rationalism: The Infallible Reason

  6. Agnosticism: Prove it to me!

  7. Individualism: I versus We

  8. Subjectivism: Worship of Self

  9. Finding Faith in College Campus

Structure of the  Program

The sessions will consist of:

  1. Big Ideas Seminar

  2. Professional Career Presentation

  3. Mentoring

The Big Ideas Seminar is organized in a two-year cycle that alternates from year to year between the philosophical and ethical issues which currently dominate college campuses, both inside and outside the classroom (2023-2024) and the virtues which strengthen students to face the challenges of high school and college life (2024-2025) .

The cost* of the Seminar is $300 (for applications received after September 1st) or $225 (for applications received before September 1st).
